The Egg Planting Trick (From Global Gardening Success Tips) If your tomatoes suffer from blossom end rot or weak growth, try this simple organic hack: When transplanting, bury 1 whole raw egg (shell on) at the bottom of a 10–12 inch hole, cover with 3–4 inches of soil, then plant your tomato on top. As the egg breaks down, it slowly releases calcium, nitrogen, phosphorus, and trace minerals—feeding roots steadily with no fertilizer burn. Works great for tomatoes, and can also help peppers, squash/zucchini, and even roses. Tip: Keep watering consistent (calcium needs water to move). Affordable. Organic. Surprisingly effective.
